Effect of nature

Ultimately, many of our medicines have been developed from natural remedies. It is therefore always worthwhile to take a look at the healing power of nature.

Especially in fall and into spring, we are repeatedly plagued by infections. Since the rapid use of antibiotics is leading to increasingly intense resistance and thus limiting the effectiveness of these drugs, we should integrate medicinal plants into our everyday lives.

These medicinal substances are available in health food stores or pharmacies in the form of tea, powder, or syrup.

Here are just a few examples:

Ribwort plantain: against the agonizing dry cough
It contains anti-inflammatory flavonoids and is rich in mucilage, which forms a protective layer over irritated mucous membranes.

Acerola cherry: the vitamin C cocktail from nature
Due to their high vitamin C content, the ingredients act as a powerhouse for the immune system, especially because of other very valuable ingredients (vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B5, folic acid, and beta-carotene). This helps you fight infections.

Thyme: Protection of the respiratory tract
It is probably THE well-known remedy for the respiratory tract. It contains several essential oils that have expectorant, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. This can make it easier to cough up phlegm when you have an infection.

Cistus: the virus scare
Cistus is a medicinal plant rich in polyphenols. These attach themselves to the cell surface and make it difficult for viruses to penetrate the body's cells. At the same time, existing viruses are destabilized and can thus be weakened more quickly.

Manuka honey: a very special treat
This very special honey from New Zealand is made from the nectar of a type of myrtle and contains the active ingredient methylglyoxal (MGO). It is said to have healing properties. In fact, there is evidence-based data on its external use for wounds. Taken internally, it can also help with many infections and reduce their duration.

Ginger: strong support
Ginger's essential oils promote blood circulation in the mucous membranes and block the penetration of pathogens. It has anti-inflammatory properties and alleviates respiratory complaints.

Rosehip: the local helper
The fruit is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants and strengthens the immune system. It boosts the immune system and helps speed up recovery from infections.

Turmeric: the most well-known medicinal root
The main active ingredient, curcumin, strengthens immune cells and protects against free radicals. It is often used to boost the immune system in general.

Sage: Soothing for the throat and pharynx
Sage works through its tannins, bitter compounds, and essential oils. It is said to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. When consumed in the form of tea, among other things, it can have a healing effect on the mouth and throat.
